Description
The Crystal Mill was not really a mill but was a hydroelectric power station for the town of Crystal, CO as well as the mine it serviced. Built in 1892, this iconic and rustic old Colorado building has withstood the elements and still stands proud. The key to photographing this amazing structure is late afternoon sunlight. Fall colors on the Aspens and the waterfall help to ad interest to the scene. To get to the mill requires 4 wheel drive up a very narrow road and is about 5 miles outside the town of Marble, Colorado.
