Description
It is 1934 and the Great Depression has left its scars on the railroad. Hardly anything gets painted or serviced unless it needs to be done to continue operations. Equipment is worn down.
This was a static display at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, Colorado. Nothing was under steam that day. After taking a base set of images, I blended them together for a base HDR image. I then used steam and smoke from 4 other photos as well as painting in the steam for the pop-off valves and generators for each loco. Steam was also added to the cylinder cock valves at the bottom of each loco. Additional layers of tones were also added to give the image a nostalgic look to it.
